The OFD Advisory Group, which is representative of the Research Institute faculty body, has been developed and is supported by CHOP Research's OFD. The committee consists of key members of the administrative and research communities at CHOP. The OFD Advisory Group consists of nine members and is committed to representation by individuals with a variety of personal experiences, values, and worldviews that arise from differences of culture and circumstance. Such differences include but are not limited to race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, national origin, age, physical characteristics, abilities, veteran status, religious beliefs, political beliefs, and other ideologies.

The goal of the Office of Faculty Development (OFD) Advisory Group is to maintain Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) as a pre-eminent pediatric research institution by ensuring a high-quality faculty experience. The primary goal of the group is to advise the Office of Faculty Development, the Chief Scientific Strategy Officer, and Chief Scientific Officer on all matters related to faculty development at CHOP.

The OFD Advisory Group:

  • Provides input on the strategic direction for the Office of Faculty Development and assists in the prioritization for developing and establishing support programs and initiatives.
  • Advises on matters of concern related to CHOP research faculty.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness and quality of faculty training programs and other resources for research productivity at CHOP and makes recommendations for identified gaps or deficiencies.
