The Rivella Lab team collaborate to explore the genetic basis of hemoglobinopathies to contribute to the development of novel therapeutics, and they share their research with colleagues at local and international conferences.

Stefano Rivella, PhD
Investigator
Dr. Rivella is an expert in the pathophysiology of erythroid and iron disorders and in the generation of lentiviral vectors for the cure of hemoglobinopathies. He also investigates additional disorders such as anemia of inflammation and hemochromatosis.
Life Beyond the Lab
When we aren't investigating potential treatments or cures for hemoglobinopathies, the Rivella Lab team enjoy each other's company by exploring Philadelphia, participating in CHOP fundraising events, and celebrating holidays and milestones together.
