The Pediatric Cancer Survivorship Outcomes Research Program comprises a core community of researchers at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania dedicated to improving long-term health and outcomes for childhood cancer survivors throughout their lifespan.

Program Goals

  • Leverage the innate strengths and resources at CHOP and Penn to build a broad base of extramurally funded grants focused on survivorship research in priority areas, such as CAR T-cell therapy for children.
  • Integrate and harmonize research opportunities within CHOP and Penn through strong synergies with Penn Medicine Abramson Cancer Center and other Penn divisions. Additionally, Clinical Futures, a CHOP Research Institute Center of Emphasis, will provide collaboration opportunities with a diverse range of clinical effectiveness topics.
  • Build partnerships with existing clinical research programs within the oncology division such as behavioral oncology, endocrine late effects after cancer therapy, and fertility/reproductive outcomes, offering unique harmonization opportunities for highly collaborative and innovative research.
  • Continue excellence in delivering clinical care to cancer survivors and expand this care to CHOP and Penn patients.
  • Train the future generation of diverse researchers and clinicians dedicated to survivorship and outcomes research.
