Leading the negotiation of industry-sponsored research agreements, as well as those concerning the sharing of data, materials, and other information with academic and industry partners.
Charles Bartunek is an experienced contracts attorney, with extensive knowledge of research administration matters, intellectual property, and multi-party agreements. He is skilled in drafting and negotiating complex yet accessible agreements and fosters positive relationships with colleagues and opposing counsel alike. Prior to his position at CHOP, Bartunek negotiated research contracts while also managing outreach and engagement activities on behalf of a major research university through its sponsored projects office. As the director of the Office of Collaborative and Corporate Research Contracts, Bartunek will oversee the negotiation and processing of a variety of agreements, while furthering the Office’s commitment to excellence in service on behalf of the CHOP community.
