Mitchell Laboratory
The Mitchell Lab at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is dedicated to the investigation of physical activity, sleep, and physical growth in childhood. Members of the lab use digital tools to measure physical activity and sleep patterns, and design mobile health interventions to promote physical activity and sleep in children. By focusing on behavior in early life, the lab's overarching goal is to help children and adolescents achieve optimal growth and help prevent chronic diseases in later life.
Jonathan A. Mitchell, PhD
Assistant Professor of Pediatrics
The overarching goal of my research is to help prevent chronic diseases in later life, by focusing on energetic behaviors (sleep, diet, and physical activity) and their impact on body composition during growth and development.
