Dominique McKnight, BA

Dominique McKnight, BA

Dominique McKnight, BA worked with Dr. Judi Miller on several research studies at CAR from 2015-2017. During that time McKnight recruited and interviewed research participants, coded data, and assisted with electroencephalography (EEG) procedures.

"I was also lucky enough to shadow Dr. Miller in the clinic, which afforded me the opportunity to see how different psychological measures, like the Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scale are administered," McKnight said. "Perhaps the most valuable experience for me was sitting in on differential diagnosis as it was always interesting to hear how symptoms and behaviors were conceptualized. I also had the amazing opportunity to work with Ayana King-Pointer, senior administrative resource coordinator at CAR, which gave me insight into the operations side of how a research clinic like CAR runs, and a lot of great hands-on experience meeting and greeting clients."

McKnight graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2017 with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. She went on to work as a clinical research associate at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, examining treatment safety and efficacy.

McKnight has since returned to Philadelphia, where she is currently a PhD student in the Clinical Psychology program at Temple University, working with Philip C. Kendall, PhD, ABPP, in the Child and Adolescent Anxiety Disorders Clinic. McKnight is interested in predictors of treatment outcomes in children with anxiety, and dissemination and implementation of evidence-based treatments in underrepresented communities.
