Bo Li, PhD

Core Faculty

Dr. Bo Li is a core faculty member in the Center for Computational and Genomic Medicine.

We conduct research focused on the following areas to better understand the impact of immune cells in the tumor microenvironment and facilitate the clinical practice of cancer immunotherapies:
  • Develop algorithms to analyze tumor-infiltrating immune repertoire data
  • Analyze cancer genomics data collected from clinical trials to identify predictive biomarkers of checkpoint blockade immunotherapies
  • Develop novel methods for studying the interaction between tumor and human microbiota.

We're Hiring!

Interested in working with the Li Lab for Cancer Genomics and Computational Cancer Immunology? Learn more about available positions.

We welcome talented and motivated PhD students to do a rotation in our lab. Students will learn more about the application of computing in immune regulation of cancer research. We have several projects that would provide a great training opportunity in developing cutting-edge computational tools. Please contact Dr. Li at to discuss potential projects.

Individuals with interest in the lab's research focus are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities of the position will involve methodology development, coding, statistical analysis of big biomedical data, manuscript writing , application to postdoctoral fellowship and communication with other researchers.

Ideal applicants are expected to have:

  • PhD degree in Bioinformatics/Genetics/Computer Science/Statistics or other quantitative science
  • Solid programming skills, strong publication record and the ability to work independently
  • Background in cancer genomics data analysis and computational methodology development.
  • Additional expertise in immunology or microbiology would be a plus.

Computational postdocs at the Li Lab will work closely with the experimental members of the lab to generate new datasets, test hypothesis, identify and solve novel biological problems.

This opening is an ideal opportunity for recent PhD graduates pursuing a career in medicine and/or biomedical research. Interested candidates should submit a CV, a cover letter of research background and future research goals, and three reference letters by email to Dr. Li.

Researchers in bioinformatics, statistics, immunology or other relevant areas are encouraged to contact us for temporary visits and research in our lab.
