The Mukherjee Lab team focuses on the prefrontal cortex and its dynamic interactions with the hippocampus and thalamus. The lab uses an integrative approach that combines behavioral physiology, single-cell transcriptomics, virus-based circuit tracing, and opto/chemogenetic perturbations.

Neuroscientist
Dr. Mukherjee investigates how neural circuits mature across adolescence to support complex cognition and their disruption in neurodevelopmental disorders. His work also focuses on harnessing cell-type-specific circuits for novel therapeutics.
