Several departments within Children's Hospital of Philadelphia's Research Institute provide grant guidance and resources for principal investigators. The offices listed below are not inclusive of all available support. Additional support may be provided within your Department, Division, or Center of Emphasis (COE). Reach out to your local support team for more information.
Office of Faculty Development
The Office of Faculty Development (OFD) supports faculty in the grant preparation process by connecting researchers to funding opportunities through the monthly newsletter and providing access to Pivot, a searchable database of funding opportunities. OFD also provides samples of successful CHOP-authored grants and provides grant development programs.

Office of Academic Training and Outreach Programs
The Office of Academic Training and Outreach Programs (ATOP) supports postdoctoral fellows and trainees by maintaining F and K award resources such as samples of CHOP-authored grants, proposal template language and the Grant Proposal Workshop program in collaboration with Grant Review Communities (GRC). In addition, this office maintains a Trainee-Funding Forecaster newsletter and offers one-on-one support during ATOP Office Hours.
Pre-Award Research Administration
The Pre-Award Research team reviews and approves proposal as well as supports investigators during the submission process. NIH Biosketch support, budget preparation, proposal data, and proposal submissions are among the offered services.

Post- Award Research Administration
The Post-Award Research team is responsible for all central post-award administration functions for CHOP researchers. This team comprised of Research Business Administrators (RBAs) provide financial oversight support and assistance along with services for spending plan projections.

Grant Review Communities
Matthew Weitzman, PhD, leads the Grant Review Communities (GRC), which were established to help CHOP investigators write grant proposals based on their science. GRC offers Grant Proposal Success (GPS) programming that is intended to guide members to secure funding by developing compelling proposals.

Health Equity Research Methods Initiative
The Health Equity Research Methods (HERMes) Initiative provides support to investigators interested incorporating health equity research methodology or applying best practices of health equity in research into their research. Submit a consultation to discuss methods, framing, approach, and/or community-engagement for a grant application, including grant language on the breadth of resources available at the CHOP Research Institute.
