Vlad Obsekov, MD, joined the teams working with Juhi Pandey, PhD, and Dr. Ashley DeMarchena, currently at the A.J. Drexel Autism Institute.

"During my two years at CAR, I worked closely with the Motor and Language Lab where I assisted with projects pertaining to motor and communication skills in patients with autism spectrum disorder," Obsekov said.

A highlight of the experience was traveling to the Netherlands with the rest of the CAR team to present theirr research at the International Society for Autism Research Annual Meeting. "The summer I spent at CAR was one of my most memorable undergrad experiences, as I was able to interact with the pediatric population in a clinical setting while also developing basic clinical research skills that have served me well," Obsekov said.

Since his time at CAR, Obsekov has engaged in clinical research, primarily within the field of pediatrics, and healthcare design and technology development work.

Obsekov graduated from the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania with a major in Biological Basis of Behavior and minors in Architecture and Chemistry. Obsekov went on to attend the NYU Grossman School of Medicine where he completed his medical school training. Obsekov returned to Philadelphia and began the Pediatrics Residency Program at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
