The Short Course on Multilingual Approaches to Research Studies (MARS) is tailored to graduate, postdoctoral, early career, and senior investigators whose work is inclusive of children, adolescents and/or maternal-child health.

The three-day course will run May 22-24, 2024.

A limited number of scholarships will be awarded on a rolling basis to offset financial hardship associated with course fees, travel, childcare, or assistive/adaptive technology.

About the Course

Priscilla Ortiz, PhD, CMI-Spanish, Robert Schrauf, PhD, Katherine Yun, MD, MHS, lead the course, providing researchers with the sensitivity, skills, and knowledge to increase access and inclusion in health research for children from families who prefer a language other than English, a population that is disproportionately excluded from research due to language barriers.

The course also support career development for multilingual investigators from underrepresented backgrounds by providing training to leverage language skills for multilingual research and grant-seeking.
