The Office of Academic Training and Outreach Programs (ATOP) will pilot a new mentorship initiative, the CHOP Career Mentoring Program, for current postdoctoral fellows in fall 2021.

ATOP seeks CHOP faculty to participate as mentors in this program. Secondary mentorship enriches the postdoc experience by providing a more well-rounded support team to ensure career success. As a program mentor, you will support your assigned fellow with their career advancement; you are not intended to serve as a mentor to the fellow’s research program.

More information about the CHOP Career Mentoring Program:

  • Advance and promote a culture of mentoring at CHOP
  • Provide CHOP postdocs an opportunity to develop a career mentoring relationship with CHOP postdoc alumni from various career paths or faculty beyond their own department or division
  • Each mentor will be paired with one mentee based on their career area of interest and mentorship needs
  • Program will run from October 2021 to June 2022 (view the full program timeline)
  • Mentoring pairs will meet at least once per month in-person or virtually (10-12 hours total over a 9-month period

The program application will open to postdocs in the spring of 2021.

If you are interested in learning more about the program, please contact Colleen Ambron by Friday, December 4.
