Transcript

My name is Tanisha Belton, and I am a Senior Manager of Research Initiatives within Policy Lab at CHOP. My current area of research focuses on sickle cell disease and transition from pediatric to adult care, and it aims to improve the experience of young adults as they prepare to transition from the pediatric setting. I also oversee PolicyLab's community partnerships and research program where we aim to foster community and academic partnerships to improve Health Equity across the Philadelphia region.

My advice to women in STEM is to remember your "why." Sometimes things can get challenging, and the road may get tough, but remember to focus back on why you started and how you got here.
