Strong Laboratory
We are hiring!
Interested candidates should contact Dr. Strong to apply.
The Strong lab studies genetic disorders of the liver and kidney to better understand the molecular landscape of disease and the mechanisms of disease pathology to develop novel therapeutics to treat these disorders.
We use genomics, proteomics, and microscopy in cellular and animal models. Current active liver-related projects in the lab include understanding the role of MED12, AMOTL1 and UNC45A in the pathogenesis of hepatobiliary disease.
Research Highlights
- MED12 plays a critical role in ciliogenesis and ciliary hedgehog signaling
- MED12 facilitates YAP downstream target gene expression through transcriptional facilitation
- MED12 plays a critical role in angiogenesis
- TOPORS is required for ciliogenesis and protection from DNA damage and acts via distinct mechanisms
