The Research Staffing Core (RSC) encompasses clinical research professionals with diverse backgrounds, education, and experience. The RSC staff has experience with many types of clinical research studies, such as PI-initiated, behavioral health, data abstraction, interview/survey based, registry, and all phases of intervention, drug, and device trials.

Staff are available on a fee-for-service basis and are available full or part time to assist investigators at all stages in the implementation and conduct of their clinical research studies.

Research Assistants, Study Coordinators, and Research Nurse Coordinators: The RSC team can work with the investigator to provide appropriate level of staff, based on experience and study needs, for each individual project. Staff can provide one or all of the services listed below, based on study needs and available funding.

Some examples of support provided:

  • Subject recruiting/consenting
  • Data entry and management
  • Study visit coordination
  • Tracking and reporting of serious and non-serious adverse events

Clinical Project Managers: The RSC team provides Clinical Project Managers to oversee and support clinical research studies conducted at CHOP, or at multiple institutions, when CHOP is the sponsor of the study, the coordinating center, or the main trial site.

Team Managers: RSC provides experienced clinical research professionals to hire, orient, train and provide ongoing oversight and research support to all research staff. The team managers also provide administrative support (Kronos approvals, goal planning, yearly evaluations, and human resource communications) to allow the investigators to focus on their research projects and not administrative responsibilities.

The RSC leadership team is also responsible for managing the mandatory Clinical Research Coordinator Fundamentals Training and Online Study Coordinator Modules.
