Nate Smyk, MS, is a Clinical Research Coordinator working with Dr. Nikhil Pai in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. His background in community mental health intervention and critical care research afforded Smyk a deep appreciation for the importance of translational research and respect for the entire person in science.

Following undergraduate studies in Clinical Counselling at Kutztown University and graduate studies in Experimental Psychology at Saint Joseph's University, Smyk completed post-graduate work at Temple University in the field of Developmental Neuroscience. He aims to continue applying his experience in human subjects research for years to come.

Outside of research, he enjoys spending time with his wife, running with his dog, working out, and reading.
