Ifrah Shahi is a postdoctoral researcher and Penn-Postdoctoral Opportunities in Research and Teaching (PennPORT), an NIH-sponsored Institutional Research and Academic Career Development Award postdoctoral fellowship. The PennPORT program combines a traditional mentored postdoctoral research experience at the University of Pennsylvania with a mentored teaching experience at a partnering institution.

Originally from Pakistan, she received her PhD in Microbiology from NYU Langone in 2022. Outside of lab, Shahi loves to read, dabble in photography, and explore new places (of both nature-made and man-made variety) with her husband and daughter.
