The Department of Biomedical and Health Informatics is hosting Fulbright Scholar Kabelo Leonard Mauco, PhD, who will present his Capstone Project titled, "Sustainable Adoption of Digital Health Innovations & Considerations for Global Partnerships: The Other Perspective."

About Dr. Kabelo Leonard Mauco

Dr. Mauco is a university research fellow from Botswana. He is a digital health researcher with a PhD in Telehealth the University of KwaZulu in South Africa. His research interests are focused on creating evidence for sustainable implementation of digital health in the context of developing countries. He is a regular reviewer for many digital health journals including Journal of Medical Internet Research and for academic journals by SAGE and BioMed Central publishers.

Dr. Mauco is a member of the WHO/I-DAIR digital health and AI competency working group and a member of the e-health leaders forum. He is an alumnus of the Fulbright program and an associate scholar at the Centre for Global Health at the University of Pennsylvania.

About Global Health Informatics

The CHOP Global Health Informatics Program is a long-term initiative aimed at improving healthcare delivery and outcomes around the world through the use of digital technology. We focus on global collaborations to develop and implement electronic health records systems, telemedicine platforms, and data analytics tools in low- and middle-income countries. Our goal is to build local health informatics capacity to implement and optimize sustainable, scalable, interoperable HIC systems that support equitable, efficient, and safe access to quality health services.
