CHOP Postdoc Alliance Lunch and Learn Series

Bioinformatics

Presenter: Joseph Dybas, PhD

Join this introduction to bioinformatics aimed at postdocs who are interested in learning how to understand bioinformatics approaches, interpret bioinformatics data, and incorporate bioinformatics and analysis of large datasets into their research.

Date: March 12, 2020
Time: 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
Location: Colket Translational Research Building, Room 4040 (4th Floor)

Learning Objectives

  1. Appreciate what types of data and results bioinformatics can and cannot generate in order to address biological questions and how bioinformatics may be applied to your research.
  2. Understand, in the context of common bioinformatics applications, basic statistical methods that are necessary to perform and interpret bioinformatics research.
  3. Recognize data and figures from common bioinformatics approaches, learn what these data mean, and interpret the results in order to address a biological question.

The goal of the Lunch and Learn series is to enhance the postdoctoral experience by providing opportunities to learn through postdoc-led sessions.

Lunch provided.
