Speaker:
Clifford J. Woolf, MB, BCh, PhD
Professor, Harvard Medical School and Boston Children's Hospital

Dr. Woolf was born in South Africa, where he earned his MB, BCh and PhD degrees. He then became Professor of Neurobiology at University College London. In 1997, he was recruited by Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard to serve as the first Richard J. Kitz Professor of Anesthesiology Research at Harvard Medical School. In 2010 he was named director of the F. M. Kirby Neurobiology Center at Boston Children’s Hospital and became Professor of Neurology Neurobiology at Harvard Medical School. He became a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences this year.

Dr. Woolf has published more than 300 research papers on molecular, cellular, and systems neurobiology, has more than 30 issued patents, and has founded several companies.
