The Department of Veterinary Resources (DVR) team at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Research Institute supports and consults on all scientific, medical, and compliance issues related to animal-based research. The team's responsibilities include clinical veterinary services, animal husbandry, animal procurement, animal enrichment, investigator support, training, and compliance oversight. The DVR senior director and attending veterinarian implements the program of veterinary care and provides supervision of the DVR staff to identify, treat, and prevent disease introduction and/or transmission in colony research animals.

The DVR veterinary team is available for consultation on animal-based research protocols, laboratory animal management, and development of grant applications for research involving animal models. Researchers should contact the DVR regarding all animal-related issues. Investigators may visit our @CHOP Community to learn more about working with our team and access training resources and related announcements.
