Clinical pharmacology is a broad discipline that bridges the study and clinical use of drugs with the fundamental goal of optimizing the safety and efficacy of medications. It encompasses basic, translational, and clinical research areas across numerous fields such as pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics, pharmacometrics, drug interactions, early phase clinical trials, biomarkers research, basic pharmacology, drug development, pharmacogenetics, therapeutic drug monitoring, pharmacoepidemiology, adverse drug reactions, toxicology, adherence/compliance, and pharmacoeconomics.

The Clinical Pharmacology RAG will meet monthly, providing an opportunity for CHOP researchers to present their ongoing work and facilitate collaborations. Meetings will include research presentations, works-in-progress sessions, and other formats that will allow for discussion and feedback. Invited external expert speakers from academics, industry, and government will present on important topics within the field.
