CHOP Global Scientific Excellence Award

CHOP’s Global Scientific Excellence Award is a competitive program open to CHOP postdocs and physician fellows with the goal of rewarding significant contributions to pediatric research that is focused on global impact.

About the Award

To demonstrate global impact, the work may:

  • Be conducted by an international postdoc or physician fellow at CHOP who is ineligible for NIH funding based on their international status, OR
  • Address a research question(s) that directly impacts global communities (trainees do not need to be foreign nationals if their work meets this criteria).

This award will help exceptional trainees bolster their prominence by receiving a distinguished grant based on their scientific accomplishments and aptitude. Additionally, this program highlights CHOP as a place that supports diverse talent and research and enables trainees to be competitive for academic careers nationally or internationally.

Funding amount: A one-time award of $10,000

Important Dates

  • Applications will open in early-September 2022 and close on November 18, 2022
  • Proposals selected for funding will be notified in late November 2022
  • Award funds must be spent by June 30, 2023
