This study is now recruiting.
The purpose of this research study is to understand the impact of transplant on the quality of life of the entire family including sibling donors, other siblings and parents.
The study will enroll male and female subjects between 5 and 17 years of age who are donating hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) to a sibling, or have a sibling receiving a transplant from a source outside of the family. Their parents will also be asked to participate. Participants will be asked to complete four telephone interviews during a one-year period at the following timepoints: Shortly before the transplant, 4 weeks after the transplant, 6 months after the transplant, and 1 year after the transplant. Each interview should take about 15-30 minutes to complete.
