With support from the Harold Amos Medical Faculty Development Program, Ana Cristancho, MD, PhD, hopes to learn more about the epigenetic pathways that underlie early-life injuries.

Dr. Cristancho is a child neurologist specializing in Fetal and Neonatal Neurology. Her research focuses on understanding the mechanisms that regulate the extent of disabilities some kids have after prenatal and neonatal brain injury. Her goal is to help develop novel therapeutic interventions.

Dr. DeMauro has special expertise in rigorous assessment of early childhood outcomes of high-risk neonates. Her research focuses on improving outcomes of children with bronchopulmonary dysplasia and school-age assessment of functional outcomes in preterm-born children.
