The Training Program in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities requests applications for three postdoctoral slots that must be filled by June 30, 2024. The purpose of this program is to provide the advanced training necessary to promote individuals into successful independent neuroscience/neurological/neurodevelopmental research careers. The focus of the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke T32-funded program is the study of intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Applications are due by end of day, Monday, Jan. 8, 2024. All application materials should be sent to Kristen Pidgeon (pidgeonk@chop.edu).

Decisions should be made by mid-February with funding beginning no later than June 30, 2024.

The program is intended for both physicians with clinical training in pediatrics, neurology, neuropathology or a related field, and doctoral-level researchers who have done neuroscience (or related) research and wish to apply their expertise to the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities.

All applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents (green card holders) at the time of application in order to be eligible for support from this training grant. MDs should have clinical training in Pediatrics, Neurology, Neuropathology or related field. PhDs who have done Neuroscience Research can have a PhD in Neuroscience or related field.

Appointment is for a period of up to three years. Please note that individuals who have two or more years of relevant research experience after their terminal degree or completion of their clinical training are not likely to be considered eligible for support as a postdoctoral fellow.

Payback Requirements

View the payback requirements. Appointed postdoctoral trainees and fellows are required to engage in two years of research, teaching, or health-related activities.
