CHOP CVI/Cardiac Center Biobank Facilitates Translational Research
We are proud to announce the launching of the new Children's Hospital of Philadelphia CVI/Cardiac Center Biobank, supported by the CHOP CVI and Cardiac Center. In partnership with the CHOP Birth Defects Biorepository and the CHOP Biorepository Resource Center, this initiative will create a robust dataset incorporating whole genome sequencing data, longitudinal phenotypic data, geospatial data, and biospecimens.
The goal of the CHOP CVI/Cardiac Center Biobank is to facilitate translational research aimed at genomics and deep tissue molecular profiling, while collecting rich clinical phenotype data for clinical outcomes studies. In its initial phase, the CHOP CVI/Cancer Center Biobank will enroll patients presenting for cardiac surgery with plans to expand enrollment over the next two years. Blood and cardiac tissue will be collected from consenting patients
