The Office of Academic Training and Outreach Programs (ATOP), in collaboration with Grant Review Communities, is accepting applications for the 2024 Grant Proposal Success (GPS) Workshop. This multi-session workshop is designed to provide grant development support for researchers-in-training. Participation in this program is competitive, and space is limited.

Eligible applicants must be a CHOP trainee with a terminal degree (PhD, MD, DO, PsyD, etc.) submitting an Individual Fellowship Award (NIH F Series), Career Development Award (NIH K Series), or equivalent foundation award in 2024. Basic, clinical, behavioral, and translational scientists are encouraged to participate.

The application deadline is Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2024. Submit applications through REDCap.

Participants must submit an application and have a signed mentor agreement form to be eligible for this program. (Mentor agreement forms will be distributed to accepted participants.)

This GPS Workshop series is geared towards those intending to submit K (K01, K08, K22, K23, K99/R00), and F (F32) series NIH grant applications or equivalent foundation grants within 2024. Participants will receive instruction in the development of key components of the application and a timeline to ensure applications are completed in time for a 2024 submission.

The GPS Workshop will include interactive sessions led by Matthew Weitzman, PhD, professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and associate chief of Research Communities. The structured sessions will be followed by informal peer-to-peer grant review sessions.

All candidates must commit to full program participation. The program will be hosted in person this year. Participants with anticipated absences must discuss with program administrators. Virtual options may be available on an as-needed basis.
