Quality Improvement

Dr. Galligan's operational and academic work are united by a fundamental goal of keeping patients, their families, and healthcare staff safe from harm. Dr. Galligan's current research focuses on applying principles of organizational behavior to the pediatric inpatient setting to prevent harm from unrecognized clinical deterioration.

Dr. Iyengar is a developmental-behavioral pediatrician who takes care of children with neurodevelopmental disabilities and delays. Her work aims to better address the social determinants of health that impact development in early childhood and to improve developmental screening practices.

Dr. Jaffe's research interests focus on quality improvement and patient safety. She is working on several projects, including efforts to improve documentation and adherence to evidence-based guidelines for care.

Dr. Muhly is a clinical investigator within the Division of Anesthesiology. His areas of investigation include pain management in pediatric patients presenting for complex surgical interventions and the application of quality improvement methodology to improve the perioperative care of children.

Dr. Pasquariello is specifically interested in peri-operative improvement and quality improvement. She has a green belt in Lean Six Sigma. Dr. Pasquariello has spearheaded projects to improve OR efficiency and patient safety. She is involved in physician wellness in the Division of General Anesthesia.

Dr. Wolfe works to improve care delivered to critically ill children using quality improvement and implementation science frameworks. She's interested in improving the quality of cardiopulmonary resuscitation in children in the PICU, and in the prevention, identification, and treatment of delirium.

Dr. Weintraub is interested in using data from the electronic health record for the purposes of quality improvement and optimization of the user experience.

Dr. Freedman has a particular interest in epidemiologic and translational research within pediatric supportive oncology. He aims to advance the understanding and treatment of symptoms, infections, and organ toxicities in pediatric cancer and hematopoietic stem cell transplant patients.

Dr. Murray is an academic and public health researcher focused on implementing and evaluating intimate partner violence programs in the pediatric healthcare setting.

Dr. Zorc's work focuses on the intersection of interventional clinical research, quality improvement (QI), and clinical informatics. He has formal certification in epidemiology, QI methodology, and clinical informatics, and has participated in multi-center research networks, guideline and improvement collaboratives, and electronic health record development locally and nationally.
