On May 6, 7, and 8, scientists, staff, and students from CHOP and the University of Pennsylvania community celebrated the next generation of pediatric researchers and the continuation of collaborative scientific discovery at the Poster Day and Scientific Symposium.

The primary objective of this study is to collect biospecimens to conduct protein biomarker studies in patients with heart failure requiring advanced therapies such as OHT and VAD.

Advancing our translational research program to improve understanding of the pathophysiology of heart failure unique to children and those with congenital heart disease to become the international leader in discovery, prevention, and treatment of advanced heart failure in children.

Dr. Berger's research focus involves the development of pediatric heart failure and underlying metabolic drivers. He studies how improving metabolic dysregulation may also benefit cardiac dysfunction.
