Surveillance Epidemiology of Coronavirus (COVID-19) Under Research Exclusion
Welcome to the SECURE-VA registry, designed to capture important information about pediatric and adult COVID-19 cases that are occurring across the world in patients living with vascular anomalies. The goal of this voluntary reporting system is to better understand outcomes of COVID-19 cases in this population of patients.
SECURE-VA
Working collaboratively with the vascular anomalies community worldwide, researchers hope to quickly characterize the impact of COVID-19 on patients with vascular anomalies and understand the impact of risk factors such as genotype, prior vascular anomaly complications, or vascular anomaly disease-related medications, on health outcomes.
Key points:
- The SECURE-VA registry is an international effort that requires robust participation and collaboration to understand the impact of COVID-19 on the health of patients living with vascular anomalies.
- This web presence provides the vascular anomaly community with summary information since responses have closed.
- The registry contains only de-identified data. The Committees for the Protection of Human Subjects at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia have determined that the collection of this data meets the exemption criteria as defined under federal regulations [45 CFR 46.104(ii)] and does not require IRB approval.
