Dr. Evageliou is an attending physician in the Division of Oncology. His research interest is in renal tumors, neuroblastoma, and solid tumors. He is a member of the Renal Tumors Committee of the Children's Oncology Group, where he helps create clinical trials for Wilms tumors.

Dr. Freedman has a particular interest in epidemiologic and translational research within pediatric supportive oncology. He aims to advance the understanding and treatment of symptoms, infections, and organ toxicities in pediatric cancer and hematopoietic stem cell transplant patients.

She also engages in collaborative research related to the communication of difficult news to patients.

Caitlin Elgarten

Dr. Caitlin Elgarten is an attending physician with the Cancer Center at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and an assistant professor of Pediatrics in the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Her research focuses on pediatric hematology-oncology.

Amish C. Shah

Dr. Shah's clinical research interests are focused in the areas of neurofibromatosis type 1 and retinoblastoma. These studies range from translational studies to clinical trials of novel therapeutics to international consortiums studying long-term effects of therapy.

Allison Barz Leahy, MD, MSCE
Allison Barz Leahy, MD, MSCE

Dr. Leahy studies the use of patient-reported outcomes (PROs) for symptom monitoring in pediatric oncology and how they can improve clinical outcomes. She is also interested in how PROs can be leveraged to inform predictive models for novel therapeutics, such as CAR T-cell therapy.

Dr. Getz develops and applies advanced methods to enable epidemiologic research that aims to optimize the treatment and supportive care of children with cancer by balancing the therapeutic benefits and toxicity risks with an emphasis in cardio-oncology.

Alix E. Seif, MD, MPH
Alix E. Seif

Dr. Seif's research centers on manipulating the human innate and immune systems to treat children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). The long-term goal of her research is to identify innate and adaptive immune mechanisms that can be used to treat pediatric ALL more effectively, and with less toxicity, than existing therapies.

Stephen P. Hunger, MD
Stephen P. Hunger

Dr. Hunger's focuses his research on molecular and genomic approaches to identify and clinically evaluate targeted cancer treatments for children with relapsed or high-risk acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) such as Philadelphia chromosome-like (Ph-Like) ALL. The long-term goal of Dr. Hunger’s research is to develop better therapies, improve cure rates, and minimize treatment toxicities for children with ALL.
