Dr. Rheingold's research interests center on acute lymphocytic leukemia, and she serves on the Children's Oncology Group's Relapsed ALL, Infant ALL, and Complementary Therapies committees. In addition, she is investigates complementary and alternative therapies, supportive care for oncology patients undergoing chemotherapy, medical education, and rare childhood tumors.
Dr. Mayer's research interests center on chronic respiratory failure, the pulmonary manifestations of neuromuscular disease, and assessing and managing patients with complex chest wall and spine disease.
Dr. Barakat's research is focused on examining risk-and-resilience models to characterize disease management and health-related quality of life of children with chronic health conditions and their families. Another focus of investigation is translation of these models into evidence-based assessment (family psychosocial risk screening) as well as family-based, mHealth interventions to improve disease management and to support medical decision-making for youth with cancer and their families.
James Massey provides operational oversight of the Pediatrics Research Consortium (PeRC), including administrative and financial planning for future research projects that use the practice-based research network.
