Dr. Takano's research focuses on basic epilepsy and related neuroscience research centered on advanced optical imaging techniques such as fluorescence lifetime imaging and two-photon microscopy; and application of micro- and nanotechnology like graphene transparent electrode to functional cellular imaging.

Dr. Mir develops and applies advanced fluorescence microscopy and single molecule imaging methods to study the dynamics of nuclear organization and transcriptional regulation during early embryonic development.

Dr. Eisch is a neuroscientist interested in how molecular, cellular, and circuit changes—particularly in the limbic system—influence motivated behavior and cognition. She is specifically interested in how neuroplasticity in the hippocampal dentate gyrus contributes to both normal and pathological function with relevance to depression and addiction.

Ding-Wen Chen’s research aims to decipher novel cellular cross talk in the bone marrow microenvironment that promotes disease persistence and recurrence in acute myeloid leukemia.
