Hajime Takano, PhD
Hajime Takano

Dr. Takano's research focuses on basic epilepsy and related neuroscience research centered on advanced optical imaging techniques such as fluorescence lifetime imaging and two-photon microscopy; and application of micro- and nanotechnology like graphene transparent electrode to functional cellular imaging.

E-mail:

Mustafa Mir, PhD
Mustafa Mir, PhD

Dr. Mir develops and applies advanced fluorescence microscopy and single molecule imaging methods to study the dynamics of nuclear organization and transcriptional regulation during early embryonic development.

E-mail:

Joseph W. St. Geme, III, MD
Joseph W. St. Geme

Dr. St. Geme's research focuses on bacterial pathogenesis, with an emphasis on defining the molecular and cellular determinants of Haemophilus influenzae and Kingella kingae disease.

E-mail:
stgemeIIIj [at] chop.edu
Sriram Krishnaswamy, PhD
Sriram Krishnaswamy

Dr. Krishnaswamy studies molecular mechanisms underlying the reactions of blood coagulation. His laboratory investigates how the proteins of blood coagulation interact with each other and with membranes to yield a regulated clotting response to vascular injury or an unregulated response in thrombotic or bleeding disease.

E-mail:
krishnaswamy [at] chop.edu
Riccardo L. Gottardi, PhD
Riccardo L. Gottardi

Dr. Gottardi leads the Bioengineering and Biomaterials (Bio2) lab, collaborating on clinical and research efforts to offer engineering solutions for pediatric health, primarily treatments for airway disorders. Dr. Gottardi researches mechanisms of laryngotracheal pathologies, applies tissue engineering to improve pediatric conditions, develops new devices, and formulates controlled drug delivery systems to treat and improve patients’ lives.

gottardir [at] chop.edu
Nikolaos G. Sgourakis, PhD
Nikolaos G. Sgourakis

Dr. Sgourakis’ research focuses on understanding the intricate molecular mechanisms that determine the vast repertoire of peptide antigens displayed by the proteins of the Major Histocompatibility Complex for immune surveillance by T cells and Natural Killer cells.

E-mail:
sgourakisn [at] chop.edu
Amelia J. Eisch, PhD
Amelia J. Eisch

Dr. Eisch is a neuroscientist interested in how molecular, cellular, and circuit changes—particularly in the limbic system—influence motivated behavior and cognition. She is specifically interested in how neuroplasticity in the hippocampal dentate gyrus contributes to both normal and pathological function with relevance to depression and addiction.

E-mail:
eischa [at] chop.edu
Ding-Wen Chen, PhD
Ding-Wen Chen

Ding-Wen Chen’s research aims to decipher novel cellular cross talk in the bone marrow microenvironment that promotes disease persistence and recurrence in acute myeloid leukemia.
