Katherine Yun

Dr. Yun is an attending physician in the Division of General Pediatrics and the Refugee Health Program at CHOP, Health Equity faculty at PolicyLab, and an associate professor of Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania. Her research focus is on access and equity in refugee and immigrant health.

Dr. Dalembert’s academic and research interests include adolescent health, health equity, and increasing patient/family engagement in the primary care setting. He also has a passion for medical education and engages in curricular design, as well as directly teaching residents and medical students.

Angela M. Ellison, MD, MSc
Angela M. Ellison

Dr. Ellison is the Louis Starr endowed vice chair of the Department of Pediatrics, associate professor of Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania, and an attending physician in the Division of Emergency Medicine at CHOP. Her research focuses on improving the outcomes of hematologic emergencies and advancing health equity.

Diana Montoya-Williams, MD

Dr. Montoya-Williams explores the drivers of perinatal racial and ethnic health disparities as well as factors that confer resilience to poor outcomes among historically disenfranchised populations. She also studies immigration policies as political determinants of perinatal health outcomes.

Nadia L. Dowshen, MD, MSHP
Nadia L. Dowshen

Dr. Dowshen focuses on improving the health outcomes for adolescent and young adults (AYA) living with or at high risk for contracting HIV/AIDS and improving access and quality of care for gender expansive and transgender children and adolescents. She is particularly interested in developing and testing digital health interventions to reach, engage, and retain AYA in care.

Tiffani J. Johnson, MD
Tiffani J. Johnson

Dr. Johnson's research portfolio reflects her commitment to improving the quality of care for underserved children and reducing racial/ethnic inequities. Her current interdisciplinary research program is focused on inequities in the care and outcomes of children in the emergency department.

Kate E. Wallis, MD, MPH

Dr. Wallis explores socio-demographic disparities in the diagnosis of developmental disorders and autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and the process of screening for these conditions in pediatric primary care. She aims to develop and test strategies to improve developmental outcomes for all children and to bridge gaps in identification and care for low-income and minority children and girls with developmental delays and autism spectrum disorder.

Jessica C. Fowler, MD, MPH
Jessica C. Fowler

Dr. Fowler’s research focuses on quality improvement and implementation initiatives around pediatric post-cardiac arrest care. She also researches healthcare workforce equity, and strategies for recruitment, retention, and advancement of physicians from underrepresented racial/ethnic backgrounds.

Stephen S. Leff, PhD
Stephen S. Leff

Dr. Leff's background is in child clinical psychology, and he has broad training and expertise in intervention research, mixed methods, and in leading a range of federally funded research initiatives. His research goal is to use community-based participatory research (CBPR) to develop and validate school-based aggression and bullying intervention programs and assessment tools for urban minority youth.

Kathy Shaw, MD, MSCE
Kathy Shaw

Dr. Shaw is an emergency medicine physician, clinical epidemiologist, and national leader in the fields of pediatric emergency medicine and quality and patient safety. She is most noted for her research in the diagnosis and management of acute pediatric illness and injuries, most notably UTI,
dehydration, and bronchiolitis.
