Dr. Iyengar is a developmental-behavioral pediatrician who takes care of children with neurodevelopmental disabilities and delays. Her work aims to better address the social determinants of health that impact development in early childhood and to improve developmental screening practices.

Dr. Mayne is an epidemiologist whose research focuses on preventing cardiovascular disease and promoting healthy behaviors in children and their families. She employs multilevel and longitudinal methods to study how factors at the individual, family, neighborhood, and policy level influence risk factor behaviors and cardiometabolic outcomes. She is also engaged in research to promote innovation in pediatric primary care.

Dr. Bennett’s research interests include screening for medical and behavioral co-morbidities in individuals with developmental disabilities, with specific interest in improving screening and outcome measures for children with autism spectrum disorder.

Dr. Miller conducts developmentally informed behavioral research to examine the impact of parent-youth communication and decision making on health-related behaviors and outcomes. She aims to conduct research that facilitates youth involvement and empowerment in health-related decision making and enhances parent-youth-provider relationships.

Dr. Lowenthal's work is focused on addressing health priorities for children in resource-limited settings. In addition to research projects she serves as research director for the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Global Health Center, supporting junior researchers (and senior researchers newly working in international settings) to develop projects addressing other health priorities for children in resource-limited settings.

Dr. Schwartz's research focuses on behavioral and psychosocial aspects of cancer and its treatment in adolescents and young adults (AYAs), a group of patients with unique medical and psychosocial challenges. Most of her current studies aim to understand and improve self-management among AYAs.

The overarching goal of my research is to help prevent chronic diseases in later life, by focusing on energetic behaviors (sleep, diet, and physical activity) and their impact on body composition during growth and development.

Dr. Fein conducts youth violence prevention research and has been the principal investigator (PI) or co-investigator of numerous federally funded projects addressing the youth violence epidemic through mixed-methods research, particularly community-based, participatory research (CBPR). He is currently the PI for a NICHD-funded study looking at the impact of a post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) prevention program on assault-injured youth and their families.

Dr. Vo’s research mission is to develop evidence-based digital health interventions to improve outcomes. Her immediate focus is to develop digital health products for suicide risk screening of children and adolescents in primary care, and to connect those at risk to mental healthcare.

Dr. Palumbo’s research is focused on child safety restraint use during air travel and on measuring social exposures that contribute to health outcomes. She also investigates the influence of policies on behaviors and health outcomes, and practical application of novel analytical research methods.
