Dr. Wood's research focuses on improving health service delivery to reduce HIV and STI incidence in adolescents and young adults. Her current projects examine improving uptake and adherence of HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis in sexual and gender minority youth, increasing STI and HIV screening in primary care, and identifying patient, neighborhood, and clinic-based barriers to HIV and sexual health service delivery.

Elizabeth Lowenthal, MD, MSCE

Dr. Lowenthal's work is focused on addressing health priorities for children in resource-limited settings. In addition to research projects she serves as research director for the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Global Health Center, supporting junior researchers (and senior researchers newly working in international settings) to develop projects addressing other health priorities for children in resource-limited settings.

Nadia L. Dowshen, MD, MSHP

Dr. Dowshen focuses on improving the health outcomes for adolescent and young adults (AYA) living with or at high risk for contracting HIV/AIDS and improving access and quality of care for gender expansive and transgender children and adolescents. She is particularly interested in developing and testing digital health interventions to reach, engage, and retain AYA in care.

Steven D. Douglas, MD

Dr. Douglas has extensive laboratory experience investigating the cellular immunology of HIV/AIDS, primary immune deficiency diseases, and cellular immunopathologies. In addition, he has had significant involvement in studies related to immunological interactions.

Judith B. Grinspan, PhD

Dr. Grinspan's research program focuses on oligodendrocytes, cells of the central nervous system that synthesize the myelin sheath required for transmission of nervous impulses. Her research seeks to understand the signaling pathways that regulate oligodendrocyte maturation and how they are perturbed in diseases such as multiple sclerosis, HIV, and perinatal white matter injury.

Cynthia J. Mollen, MD, MSCE

Dr. Mollen's research career has been focusing on using non traditional setting as sites for interventions to improve adolescent reproductive health. She founded and oversees a research program in Children's Hospital of Philadelphia's Emergency Department that provides sexual health education and HIV testing services, and explores intervention opportunities for increasing access to reproductive health services in the ED.

Laurence "Ike" Eisenlohr, VMD, PhD

Dr. Eisenlohr studies the fundamental aspects of host defense, primarily against virus infections such as influenza and HIV.

Dr. Vella is an assistant professor of Pediatrics at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine with a primary research focus on T follicular helper cells (Tfh), chronic infections, and vaccine readiness.

Caitlin Elgarten, MD, MSCE

Dr. Caitlin Elgarten is an attending physician with the Cancer Center at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and an assistant professor of Pediatrics in the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Her research focuses on pediatric hematology-oncology.
