Michelle Denburg, MD, MSCE
Michelle Denburg

Dr. Denburg addresses fundamental limitations in understanding of skeletal morbidity in patients with chronic kidney disease, glomerular disease, and urinary stone disease, and develops resources to conduct observational research and trials to optimize health outcomes in these high risk populations.

Jarcy Zee, PhD
Jarcy Zee

Dr. Zee's statistical methods research includes topics in survival analysis, measurement error, observational data methods, and machine learning. Her clinical research is focused on kidney disease, specifically in clinical and pathology markers of glomerular and chronic kidney disease progression.

E-mail:

Erum A. Hartung, MD, MTR
Erum A. Hartung

Dr. Hartung's clinical and translational research program focuses on autosomal recessive polycystic kidney disease and other genetic kidney diseases, development of new kidney and liver imaging biomarkers, and neurocognitive outcomes in children with chronic kidney disease.

E-mail:
hartunge [at] chop.edu
Gregory Tasian, MD, MSCE
Gregory Tasian

Dr. Tasian and his research team use an epidemiologic framework, including randomized trials and multi-institutional observational studies, to examine the etiology of kidney stone disease and the comparative effectiveness of surgical interventions. He also employs machine learning of complex data to improve diagnosis, risk stratification, and prediction of treatment response for children and adults with benign urologic disease.

E-mail:
tasiang [at] chop.edu
Benjamin L. Laskin, MD, MS
Benjamin L. Laskin

Dr. Laskin's research focuses on the conduct of clinical investigations and translational studies designed to target mechanisms to prevent, treat, or slow the progression of chronic kidney disease in immunosuppressed patients, including children receiving a bone marrow or kidney transplant.

E-mail:
laskinb [at] chop.edu
Susan L. Furth, MD, PhD
Susan L. Furth

Dr. Furth's research focuses on defining risk factors for kidney disease progression in children; characterizing the effect of kidney function decline on neurodevelopment, cognitive abilities and behavior; identifying the prevalence and evolution of cardiovascular disease risk factors, and examining the effects of declining glomerular filtration rate on children’s growth.

Madhura Pradhan, MD, MBBS
Madhura Pradhan

Dr. Pradhan is chief of the Division of Nephrology and outpatient director of the Dialysis Unit at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, and professor of Clinical Pediatrics in the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Her research focuses on neuroimaging in chronic kidney disease.

E-mail:
pradhan [at] chop.edu
Rui Xiao, PhD
Rui Xiao

Dr. Xiao’s research focuses primarily on methodology and applications in clinical and genetic studies. She has extensive collaborative experience in developmental disabilities, metabolic disorders, EEG monitoring for seizure screening, chronic kidney disease, and juvenile spondyloarthritis.

E-mail:

Kevin Downes, MD
Kevin Downes

The research interests of Dr. Downes focus on antimicrobial clinical pharmacology and pharmacoepidemiology in children with a goal to identify novel approaches to optimize efficacy, minimize toxicity, and limit antimicrobial resistance from antibiotics.
