Stephanie K. Doupnik

Dr. Doupnik’s research investigates how to ensure that children can access effective mental health services. She uses methods from diverse fields, including epidemiology, comparative effectiveness, and health policy research. Currently, she is focused on suicide prevention and integration of mental health services into children’s hospitals.

Dr. Eiraldi's research focuses on the implementation of evidence-based interventions for the prevention and treatment of externalizing and internalizing mental health disorders in school children.

Amanda E. Bennett, MD, MPH
Amanda E. Bennett

Dr. Bennett’s research interests include screening for medical and behavioral co-morbidities in individuals with developmental disabilities, with specific interest in improving screening and outcome measures for children with autism spectrum disorder.

Jennifer A. Mautone, PhD
Jennifer A. Mautone

Dr. Mautone's research focuses on assessment and treatment of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder. She has expertise in family-school-health system collaboration, classroom consultation, and integrated behavioral health in primary care settings. She has a special interest in increasing access to high-quality, culturally competent care for underserved children and families.

Joel Fein, MD, MPH
Joel Fein Headshot

Dr. Fein conducts youth violence prevention research and has been the principal investigator (PI) or co-investigator of numerous federally funded projects addressing the youth violence epidemic through mixed-methods research, particularly community-based, participatory research (CBPR). He is currently the PI for a NICHD-funded study looking at the impact of a post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) prevention program on assault-injured youth and their families.

Jonathan A. Mitchell

The overarching goal of my research is to help prevent chronic diseases in later life, by focusing on energetic behaviors (sleep, diet, and physical activity) and their impact on body composition during growth and development.

Yimei Li, PhD
Yimei Li

Dr. Li’s methodology research interests include clinical trial design, survival analysis, longitudinal data analysis, and statistical methods for health services research. The current focus of her research is on statistical designs and analyses for early phase cancer clinical trials, such as Bayesian adaptive designs for dose-finding trials and platform trials. Her collaborative research focuses on pediatric oncology, ranging from translational research to clinical trials and epidemiology studies.

Alexander G. Fiks Headshot

Dr. Fiks’ research is aimed at improving outcomes for ambulatory pediatric patients through primary care, practice-based scholarship with a focus on improving health and healthcare decision-making through health information technology.

James P. Guevara, MD, MPH
James P. Guevara

Dr. Guevara is the principal investigator on research grants evaluating health inequities in early childhood development and behavioral problems. He utilizes community-based participatory clinical trials involving parent advocacy groups, community organizations, and government agencies to test the effects of psychosocial interventions designed to provide parents with resources and tools to improve the care of their children.

Lamia P. Barakat, PhD
Lamia P. Barakat

Dr. Barakat's research is focused on examining risk-and-resilience models to characterize disease management and health-related quality of life of children with chronic health conditions and their families. Another focus of investigation is translation of these models into evidence-based assessment (family psychosocial risk screening) as well as family-based, mHealth interventions to improve disease management and to support medical decision-making for youth with cancer and their families.
