The Qualitative Research Core (QCR) supports all Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Research Institute personnel and faculty who are interested in utilizing qualitative methods. We support research teams with a wide range of qualitative research experience, including those who are new to qualitative research and those with established qualitative research portfolios. We welcome inquiries from fellows, research scientists, instructors, and newly established investigators. We are experienced in providing research support across a broad range of settings, including in-hospital clinical research, primary care, public health, and community-based settings.
We aid and guide qualitative research design, research proposal support, methodological consultation, resource allocation consultation, training in the conduct of qualitative research techniques, and support in research execution, including recruitment, data collection, data analysis, interpretation, and manuscript writing.

The QRC is invested in raising the caliber of qualitative research across the CHOP enterprise by providing methodological training to research teams. We provide free quarterly general qualitative methods trainings open to any Research Institute employee, as well as tailored, in-depth training to study teams on specific topics, including:
