Oversees clinical trial financial activities such as budgeting, research subject registration, charge review, sponsor invoicing, payments to hospital departments providing research services, and study financial closeouts.
Ronnie Kain has close to 30 years of experience in healthcare administration including 20 years at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Ronnie served as the administrator of CHOP’s General Clinical Research Center (GCRC) beginning in 1999 and collaborated with the leaders of University of Pennsylvania and CHOP Research Institute as that program transitioned to the Clinical Translational Science Award (CTSA)/Clinical Translational Research Center (CTRC) at each institution. Kain advanced to the role of director of the Clinical Trials Finance Management Department of the Research Institute in 2017. Here are some of Kain’s notable CHOP career achievements:
- Administrative development of the CTSA Research Center’s Junior Investigator Pilot Grant Program
- Successfully coordinated the submission of four National Institutes of Health competing renewal applications, including three site visits for the GCRC/CTSA program
- Various process improvement projects of CHOP Research Institute, including implementation of the OnCore Financial system.
