Bio
Sarah Park, PhD, is a Research Associate II performing epilepsy research in the Coulter Lab. She received her doctorate in the Cellular and Molecular Medicine Program in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and her postdoctoral training at the Kennedy Krieger Institute at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine SOM and in the Coulter Lab.
She is currently exploring how place cell properties are changed due to seizures in temporal lobe epilepsy by studying an animal model navigating a virtual reality environment while recording from the hippocampus using two-photon imaging, local field potential electrophysiology recordings, and behavioral analysis. Her research interests lie in identifying ways to detect seizures and improve the seizure, cognitive, and behavioral outcomes of patients who have epilepsy or other neurological disorders that include seizures as a co-morbidity.
