Robert Perkinson, Technical Director of the Biorepository Resource Center (BioRC), oversees BioRC policies, personnel and protocols, minimizes disruption to BioRC services or supply chain, and ensures appropriate provision of resources to meet the approved biobanking needs of the CHOP community.

Bio

Robert Perkinson is Technical Director of the Biorepository Resource Center (BioRC), which serves CHOP's biobanking needs with the capacity to house for 2 million to 3 million samples onsite. He ensures the appropriate provision of resources, space, educational programs, strategic planning, research, and development to meet the needs of the BioRC. In addition, he oversees all BioRC policies and protocols, as well as team preparation for potential disruptions to services or supply chain.

Perkinson joined CHOP in 2024 and brings more than 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, start-up space, and academia as a scientific executive and technical subject matter expert.

He holds two patents:

  • Insulin Receptor Antibodies and Uses Thereof. WO2019023056, 2019
  • Chemically Defined Medium for Cultured Mammalian Cells. WO2002066603A2, 2002

He is an invited course instructor and speaker at several industry conferences including:
