Dr. Vuma has a keen interest in research and public health and works as a study coordinator for Research Ultrasound in the Department of Radiology. Previously, she worked for the Division of Environmental Pediatrics at NYU School of Medicine where she provided support for an NIH-funded birth-cohort focused on perinatal environmental exposures. In addition to clinical medicine, she has worked in clinical research and medical education administration.

Dr. Vuma received her medical degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, a BA in Biochemistry from Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts, and worked as in intern at Queen 'Mamohato Memorial Hospital in Maseru, Lesotho.
