Leah Wang, MA, is a psychology doctoral student in clinical psychology at the University of Pennsylvania studying with Dr. Robert Schultz. Wang's interest in working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) began at Yale University, where she earned her BS in Psychology in 2014. She subsequently worked as a research assistant at both the Center for Autism Research at CHOP and the Center for Autism and Related Disorders at the Kennedy Krieger Institute. Today, her research focuses on early brain and behavioral development in ASD with a particular interest in elucidating the mechanisms contributing to early motor and language delays in ASD. Wang is currently conducting research on the interaction between motor and language development in ASD and on whether early features of functional brain architecture predict effective skill acquisition in infancy. She plans to pursue a career as a clinical scientist who uses novel tools and techniques to help understand and improve outcomes for children with ASD.
