Jamiel Owens is a father of a child with autism and a true advocate for his son and others in the autism community. Owens comes from an extensive background in law enforcement and public service as a firefighter in Pennsylvania. It has always been his dream to work at the Center for Autism Research (CAR), as CAR aligns with his passion to advocate for community engagement, inclusion, diversity, and equity in the autism community and beyond.

As the Family Relations Coordinator at CAR, Owens will assist CAR's Outreach Team in continuous efforts to engage organizations and communities with education, resources, and programs offered at CAR.
