Bio
Isabel Russak is a clinical research assistant for the Infant Brain Imaging Study (IBIS) at the Center for Autism Research. The IBIS study looks at the relationship between brain development and behavior in infants and children with autism, Down syndrome, or typically developing children.
Russak graduated from Haverford College, where she majored in Psychology and minored in Neuroscience. As an undergraduate, she continued developing her passion for teaching and working with children as a camp counselor, an English language teaching assistant, and a research assistant in a Neurodevelopmental Psychology laboratory.
She completed her senior thesis on the therapeutic potential of Dance Movement Therapy in the treatment of PTSD. A dancer and musician in her free time, she is interested in applying these art forms to her future therapeutic work. Russak plans to pursue a PhD in School/Clinical Psychology, hoping to continue engage in both research and clinical work with children with developmental/learning disabilities.
