Bio

Dr. Clifton Thornton is a pediatric oncology nurse practitioner and a scientist within the Center for Pediatric Nursing Research and Evidence-Based Practice. His clinical and research expertise is in understanding and managing toxicities from chemotherapy and radiation therapy with a focus on dose-limiting toxicities. His research findings drive patient care that mitigates toxicity development to allow for continued, optimal delivery of cancer-directed care that facilitates successful treatment and improves quality of life both during and after treatment. He also focuses on work that translates to cancer survivorship, allowing patients to function to their highest potential after a cancer diagnosis.
