Healthcare Analytics Unit Core
The Healthcare Analytics Unit (HAU) Core serves as a resource for investigators who want to use administrative or other existing data to answer research questions. In addition, the HAU offers programmer/analyst services to pull, clean, manage, model, and analyze data, and it provides the expertise of the Core’s faculty members who have advanced training in clinical epidemiology and public health.
The HAU provides comprehensive biostatistics consulting, analysis, and data services to support research. Core staff help to prepare grant proposals, design studies, apply and develop statistical methods, and meaningfully contribute to academic output such as manuscripts, posters, and presentations.
The HAU supports and provides access to the following databases:
- Pediatric Health Information System (PHIS)
- Kids' Inpatient Database (KID)
- National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey (NAMCS)
- National Hospital Discharge Survey (NHDS)
- Premier Perspective Database
The HAU is a core service unit of the Department of Biomedical and Health Informatics (DBHi) and CHOP Research Institute, CHOP’s Center for Pediatric Clinical Effectiveness, and PolicyLab.
