The Department of Biomedical and Health Informatics' Dean Karavite, Dr. Robert W. Grundmeier, and Dr. Jeritt Thayer have published a new article in Applied Clinical Informatics as part of the Electronic Medical Records in Genomics (eMERGE) grant with the Center for Applied Genomics (CAG).

Their research explores decision support for primary care providers in returning Genome-Informed Risk Assessments (GIRA)—which integrate polygenic risk scores, patient history, and family history—to help identify children at high risk for conditions like asthma, obesity, and diabetes.

Read more about their findings, which were published in the journal Applied Clinical Informatics.
